Stoneware bowl or jatte which has been glazed on the inside and on the external rim with a pouring lip at one side. The remainder of the external surface is unglazed.
These bowls were commonplace in French kitchens or dairies and were used for preserving pork or duck by salting, butter and cheese making or making confi.
